Our Story

Greenhill Coffee Roasters began back in 1987, when founder Barry Constable set out with a simple goal: roast genuinely good coffee and supply it to local cafés, pubs and wholesalers. What started as a small operation in the Forest of Dean grew steadily over the years, earning a reputation for quality, consistency and proper roasting craft.

From the very beginning, Greenhill committed to sourcing organic and fairly traded beans wherever possible. As soon as Fairtrade certification became available in the UK, they registered without hesitation. That ethical approach still underpins everything today.

Now based in Cinderford, Greenhill supplies customers across the UK, from home-brewers to independent businesses that want reliable, flavour-driven coffee without the pretence.

What We Do

  • Roast high-quality coffee
Greenhill specialises in 100 % Arabica beans, alongside a selection of expertly balanced Arabica-Robusta blends. Every batch is roasted on a traditional Probat drum roaster — slower, but far better for bringing out proper depth and character.

  • Supply coffee for homes and businesses
Beans are available whole or ground, in 250 g packs, full kilos or convenient portioned sachets for filter machines. For cafés, hotels and other venues, Greenhill also provides custom blends and private-label roasting with support for Fairtrade and organic branding.

  • Produce terrific drinking chocolate
Their long-standing drinking chocolate is Fairtrade, organic, gluten-free and made with quality cocoa and cane sugar. Rich, simple and decidedly moreish.

  • Provide equipment for commercial setups
Businesses can source espresso machines, grinders and bean-to-cup systems through Greenhill, with options to purchase, lease or rent depending on requirements.

Our Values

Greenhill’s approach hasn’t changed in nearly four decades:

  • Ethical, sustainable sourcing at every opportunity.

  • Traditional drum roasting rather than industrial shortcuts.

  • Straightforward, reliable service for individuals and businesses.

  • A commitment to transparency and consistent flavour.

Why It Matters

To Greenhill, coffee isn’t a gimmick or a trend. It’s craftsmanship, patience and respect for the growers who make it possible. Whether you’re running a busy café or simply want a better brew at home, their goal is the same: roast coffee that’s honest, dependable and genuinely enjoyable.

If you want, I can also put together a shorter version for packaging, a brochure or a more minimalist website layout.
